Dutch authorities made a shocking statement: cannabis was found in popular Haribo gummy candies.
The alarm was raised by consumers themselves, who after consuming the sweets felt unusual discomfort and immediately contacted law enforcement.
Haribo company responded to the incident promptly, announcing the immediate withdrawal from sale of all suspicious batches of products. At the moment, investigators are trying to establish how the narcotic substance could have gotten into the confectionery products known worldwide.
