Putin signed a law that complicates the situation of migrants in Russia
President of Russia Vladimir Putin approved a new law that expands the list of grounds for terminating employment contracts with foreign citizens and stateless persons.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the official legal information portal, the document stipulates that a foreign worker can be dismissed if regional regulations require the employer to reduce the number of foreign employees.
According to the law, the new rules will come into effect on March 1, 2026. The legislative initiative was introduced to the State Duma by representatives of the "New People" faction.
