Powerful earthquake in Chile

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 was registered in Tarapaca, Chile. This was reported on May 26 by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Izvestia, the epicenter of the seismic event was at a depth of 113 km and was located 102 km northeast of the city of Iquique with a population of 227 thousand people.

There was no information about casualties or destruction.
