Poland again scrambled fighter jets due to Russian drones
World 12

On Saturday evening, September 13, Poland once again scrambled fighter jets due to the threat of Russian drone invasion.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by Polsat News citing a statement from the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces.

It is noted that the appearance of Russian attack drones in Ukrainian regions neighboring Poland caused military aviation to begin operations in Polish airspace as well. It is specified that these actions are preventive in nature, and no actual violations of Poland's airspace have been recorded.

Due to the threat, Lublin Airport and the controlled zone around it were also closed. Civilian flights were suspended for two hours - from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM local time.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk confirmed on social network X that due to the threat from Russian drones near the border with Ukraine, preventive operations by Polish and allied air forces began in the country's airspace. He added that ground-based air defense systems have been placed on highest alert.
