People's Artist of Azerbaijan has passed away

People's Artist of Azerbaijan, State Prize laureate Haji Murad Yagizarov has passed away.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by People's Writer Natig Rasulzade.

The artist passed away today in Germany after a prolonged illness.

Haji Murad Haji Ahmed oglu Yagizarov was born on July 18, 1939, in Baku. He studied at the acting faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts named after M.A. Aliyev in Maharram Hashimov's class. Since 1962, he served at the Azerbaijan State Russian Drama Theater named after Samad Vurgun.

During his creative career, the actor performed many leading and supporting roles in Azerbaijani films, was awarded the titles of "Honored Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR" and "People's Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR," as well as the State Prize of the Azerbaijan SSR.

By decrees of President Ilham Aliyev, Haji Murad Yagizarov was awarded the "Shohrat" and "Sharaf" orders.
