New law for labor migrants in Russia - within 30 days...
Migrants in Russia may be required to undergo medical examination within 30 days after entering the country. The corresponding bill was introduced to the State Duma by a group of deputies headed by the leaders of parliamentary factions and the Deputy Speaker of the chamber, the chairperson of the commission on migration policy, Irina Yarovaya. The document proposes to reduce the established period for medical examination from 90 to 30 days.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to TASS, the changes are planned to be introduced to the law "On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation." Currently, migrants are required to undergo a medical examination within 90 days after entry to confirm the absence of dangerous infectious diseases, HIV, as well as the fact of drug use.
According to the initiative, foreigners arriving in Russia for more than 30 days will have to undergo medical examination annually. If a migrant is found to have dangerous infections, HIV, or drug use, medical organizations will be obligated to notify the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Rospotrebnadzor for a prompt decision on possible deportation.
