Kazakhstan Announced Investigation of Collected Materials in AZAL Plane Crash Case

Investigation of the Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) plane crash is at the stage of examining collected materials.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this was stated by the head of the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan, Marat Karabaev, in the Senate.

"The first stage is the collection of materials, which has been completed. Now the second stage is when the collected materials are being examined. We are currently at the examination stage. As part of the investigation, our specialists, together with invited foreign specialists and ICAO as well, visited Baku, Grozny, and also Rostov-on-Don. This is what I can tell you now," Karabaev noted.

The materials for the investigation are in Kazakhstan, the minister added.

Recall that the AZAL passenger plane, operating the Baku-Grozny flight, crashed on December 25, 2024, near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Of the 67 people on board the aircraft, 38 died and 29 survived.

According to preliminary data, the plane crashed as a result of physical and technical external impact in the airspace of the Russian Federation over Grozny.
