Giorgia Meloni thanked Ilham Aliyev

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni thanked Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for his congratulations on the occasion of the longest tenure as head of government.

Meloni wrote about this on the social network X.

"Thank you, dear Aliyev, for these words and for the sincere friendship that binds our peoples," Meloni wrote.

She emphasized that over the past years, Italy and Azerbaijan have built strong cooperation based on a shared vision and interests.

"I am very proud of the joint work we have done to strengthen our strategic partnership, and I am confident that important new opportunities for cooperation lie ahead — in the interests of our peoples," the Italian prime minister noted.
