Iran's authorities made a statement for the first time about the condition of Mojtaba Khamenei
The injuries of Iran's new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei sustained in an airstrike have nearly healed.
This was reported by Al Araby, citing government meetings coordinator Mazaher Hosseini.
The new leader of Iran was injured during the attack on February 28, when Israel and the United States launched a joint military operation against Iran. His father, Ali Khamenei, and his wife were killed in the attack.
According to the Iranian official, Mojtaba Khamenei was knocked to the ground by the blast wave and sustained injuries to his knee and back, as well as a minor injury behind his ear. Hosseini emphasized that the back injury has already healed, and the knee is expected to recover soon. A small cut behind the ear is not visible due to his turban.
The Wall Street Journal notes that this is the first time Iranian authorities have publicly disclosed details about the new Supreme Leader's injuries.
