Head of educational institution detained in Dagestan on corruption charges
In the Republic of Dagestan, the director of an educational institution was detained on charges of receiving a bribe of 2 million rubles.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Gazeta.ru, this was announced by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the region.
"According to the investigation, at the end of October 2025, the director of an educational institution gave a bribe to a law enforcement official in the amount of 2 million rubles to stop the audit of the financial and economic activities of the institution and conceal the identified violations. The employee of the regional FSB refused the money, after which the suspect was detained," the statement says.
A criminal case has been initiated under Part 5 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (giving a bribe to an official in an especially large amount). Under this charge, the suspect faces up to 12 years in prison.
