Armenia delivered a note of protest to Russia over Solovyov's statements
Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergei Kopyrkin was summoned to the Armenian Foreign Ministry, where he was handed a note of protest over statements made by Russian journalist Vladimir Solovyov.
This is reported by Armenian media.
"The Russian ambassador to Armenia was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and received a letter of protest expressing deep indignation at the statements made on a state TV channel program. It was emphasized that they constitute an unacceptable encroachment on the sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia, a hostile manifestation, and grossly violate the fundamental principles of friendly relations between Armenia and Russia," said the statement by Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan.
Earlier today, the Vice-Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Ruben Rubinyan, made a sharp statement about Vladimir Solovyov, calling him a "dog."
"The dog barks, the caravan moves on. In this case, the dog is Solovyov, a close friend and compatriot of Russian businessman Samvel Karapetyan, and the caravan is our beloved country, which is steadily moving towards lasting peace and development," he wrote on social media.
Recall that recently Vladimir Solovyov stated that the loss of Armenia contradicts Russia's interests. Moreover, the TV host expressed the opinion about the necessity of conducting "special military operations" not only in Ukraine but also in "other regions of the Russian sphere of influence, especially in Armenia."
