Alexander Stubb declared a decline in the role of the United States as a "benevolent hegemon"
The United States no longer acts as a "benevolent hegemon" in the world, and its strikes on Iran without consulting allies confirm this.
This was stated by Finnish President Alexander Stubb in an interview with The Sunday Telegraph.
According to him, the US previously coordinated its actions with allies, including in Libya, Iraq, and Afghanistan, and also sought approval from the UN Security Council.
"This time, the US acted either independently or together with Israel, without informing allies," he noted.
At the same time, Stubb emphasized that the US remains a powerful nation, but its approach to global leadership has changed and now relies less on allies.
The Finnish president also pointed out that Europe previously ranked third on the list of US foreign policy priorities after the Western Hemisphere and the Indo-Pacific region, while the Middle East was in fourth place.
He called for preserving the transatlantic partnership, including cooperation within NATO and in the field of defense, despite possible disagreements on certain issues.
