27-year-old beauty queen from Ecuador dies in car accident

27-year-old Shamel Alejandra Alava Zambrano was in a pickup truck with her husband when another vehicle crashed into their car. As a result of the accident, six people were injured, all of them were hospitalized. Doctors were unable to save Zambrano's life. The causes of the accident are being investigated.

Zambrano became the winner of the city beauty pageant in 2015.

Earlier, a similar tragic incident occurred in Guatemala: the beauty queen of the city of La Blanca died in a motorcycle accident.

"Alondra Marianela Hernandez Perez lost control of her motorcycle on a well-known section of the highway in Guatemala. The 20-year-old girl was taken to the hospital still alive, but died the next day," reports the Need To Know (NTK) portal.

Perez won the title of beauty queen of La Blanca in 2024. According to local media, she was just beginning a promising career in the modeling business.
