The Most Effective Method for Treating High Blood Pressure Has Been Found
Taking a single combination pill with multiple medications for hypertension can lower blood pressure faster and reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this conclusion was reached by specialists from the American Heart Association in a scientific statement published in the journal Hypertension.
Experts note that most people with high blood pressure require two or more medications at once. When they are combined into a single pill, it becomes easier for patients to adhere to treatment and they are less likely to miss doses. According to research, this approach helps achieve target blood pressure values faster and is associated with a 15-30% reduction in the risk of cardiovascular complications.
The recommendations emphasize that combination pills contain only blood pressure medications and are not "polypills," which also include statins or aspirin. Despite proven effectiveness, their use is still limited due to cost, but the authors believe that wider use of this approach could significantly improve the health of people with hypertension.
