Named autumn fruit beneficial for the heart

Persimmon contains potassium, magnesium and antioxidants that support cardiovascular health, gastroenterologist Evgeny Belousov told "Gazeta.Ru".
"Persimmon is a valuable dietary product that, when consumed reasonably, brings significant benefits to the body. Its antioxidant and vitamin potential makes it an excellent choice for preventing deficiency conditions and maintaining overall health. However, it is important to consider individual characteristics of the body and avoid excessive consumption, especially when unripe. The recommended portion for an adult is 1-2 fruits per day (depending on size), preferably as part of a balanced meal - for example, with cottage cheese, nuts, or as a dessert after a main meal," the doctor explained.
Persimmon contains vitamins A, C, B group, potassium, magnesium, calcium, as well as a large amount of fiber, which helps normalize digestion, supports healthy intestinal microflora and helps control cholesterol levels.
"100 g of persimmon contains up to 160-180 mg of potassium. This mineral regulates water-salt balance, supports normal functioning of the heart and muscles. Persimmon also contains magnesium, calcium, iron, manganese in moderate amounts, but in an easily digestible form. In addition, the fruit is rich in antioxidants - tannins, catechins, anthocyanins - especially in astringent varieties of persimmon. These substances have anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and potentially anti-tumor effects. And they are all important in supporting cardiovascular health," the doctor said.
