Collins English Dictionary named the word of the year
The prestigious British English dictionary Collins has declared "vibe coding" as the word of 2025, noting revolutionary changes in the field of programming, reports BAKU.WS with reference to "Gazeta.Ru".
"Vibe coding is the use of artificial intelligence to help write computer code based on a natural language description of the task," states the official definition in the dictionary.
The new technology radically changes the approach to software development. Instead of the labor-intensive manual writing of lines of code, it's enough to simply describe the desired result in human language, and artificial intelligence transforms this description into functional code. According to the dictionary compilers, the term has already gone far beyond technology hubs, symbolizing "a larger cultural shift toward the use of AI in everyday life".
Previously, it was reported that the "six-seven" meme became popular among English-speaking internet users in 2025. Many considered this phrase to be just another meaningless set of words and predicted it would lose relevance in a couple of months. But the expression became so popular that it was recognized as the word of 2025. Where the "six-seven" meme came from, what it means, and why it irritates the older generation.
