Cold feet may be indicative of certain diseases
Constantly cold feet can be a sign not only of external factors but also of hidden disorders in the body - from thyroid problems to anxiety disorders. This was reported by podologist Manu Vidal, who indicated that such a symptom is not always harmless and requires attention.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to El Economista, one of the common causes of cold feet is lifestyle. According to the specialist, smoking, alcohol consumption, wearing tight shoes and socks, as well as low physical activity impair blood circulation and prevent normal blood flow to the lower extremities.
At the same time, Vidal emphasized that constantly cold feet can also indicate more serious health problems. In particular, this symptom is often associated with thyroid dysfunction. With reduced thyroid activity, metabolism slows down and thermoregulation is disrupted, causing the extremities to constantly feel cold.
The doctor named psychological and emotional state as another important factor. Anxiety and chronic stress can cause vascular spasms, which worsen blood supply to the legs and lead to a feeling of coldness even in warm conditions.
In addition, cold feet can be a consequence of cardiovascular diseases, including hypertension, high cholesterol, and atherosclerosis. In such cases, the unpleasant sensation is associated with impaired blood flow.
The expert recommended not to ignore this symptom. If the feeling of cold in the feet persists for a long time and does not depend on weather or footwear, you should consult a doctor for examination.
