President of "Qarabag" thanked "Neftchi"

The president of Agdam football club "Qarabag" Tahir Gozel thanked Baku's "Neftchi" for agreeing to postpone the Azerbaijan Premier League match, which was supposed to take place between the first and second meetings of the Agdam team with England's "Newcastle" in the UEFA Champions League play-off.

As reported by Report, the club's press service distributed the corresponding statement from the official.

T. Gozel noted that the two matches between "Qarabag" and "Newcastle" will take place six days apart.

"I express my sincere gratitude to the management and board of 'Neftchi' for their understanding and constructive position regarding the match postponement. With this decision, 'Neftchi' once again demonstrated its commitment to its football traditions, nobility, and the common interests of Azerbaijani football. This step proved that no matter how principled the rivalry may be, national spirit, mutual respect, and unity always remain a priority.

I believe that such approaches serve the development of domestic football and the further strengthening of healthy relations between clubs. It was previously reported that the match between "Neftchi" and "Qarabag," who were supposed to meet on February 21 in the 21st round of the Premier League, has been postponed.
