"Karabakh" made a harsh statement after the incident in the match against "Chelsea"
Azerbaijan football club "Karabakh" issued a statement regarding racist remarks made by a fan in the stands against an opponent team player during the match between "Karabakh" and "Chelsea," which took place on November 5 in the UEFA Youth League.
This was reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the press service of the Agdam representative.
The statement says that the "Karabakh" club strongly condemns any manifestations of racism, discrimination, or incitement to hatred both on and off the field.
"We are extremely concerned about such unacceptable actions. Such behavior does not correspond to the values of FC 'Karabakh,' our fans, and the Azerbaijani people. The perpetrator has been identified, and the case has been forwarded to local law enforcement agencies for immediate investigation.
FC 'Karabakh' reaffirms its zero-tolerance policy toward any forms of racism and discrimination. Football is a game based on unity, respect, and equality, principles that we will always uphold.
We sincerely apologize to 'Chelsea,' the affected player, and everyone who fights for fair play and human dignity. 'Karabakh' will continue to work closely with the police and UEFA to ensure that strict measures are taken against any manifestations of racism," the statement says.
