Gurban Gurbanov: Everything will work out
"Qarabag" will host Kyiv's "Dynamo" tomorrow in Baku in the return match of the III qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League.
As reported by APA, the head coach of the Agdam club Gurban Gurbanov answered journalists' questions at the pre-match press conference.
First, Gurban Gurbanov congratulated "Sabah" on yesterday's victory: "I wish them success in the Champions League. This is a great achievement. We can only be happy about it."
He emphasized that the team had prepared well for the match against Kyiv's "Dynamo": "We had several days, and we were able to use them effectively. Despite trailing on aggregate from the first match with a score of 0:1, we will try to achieve a good result. I believe that the players will be fully focused on the game. We are facing an opponent that defends well. But I am confident that our players will do everything possible for a good result."
The head coach of "Qarabag" explained the reasons for individual mistakes in the first match against "Dynamo": "We didn't make a major rotation. Jabrail started for the first time. In previous games, he had performed quite well. And during the match, he looked decent. Perhaps he just needed to be more active. The opponent creates conditions in which you make mistakes. Sometimes mistakes occur when the pace of the game is low, sometimes you start playing too calmly. At a low tempo, the opponent closes in on you faster. Perhaps that was also a reason. In any case, we need to eliminate these mistakes. If we want to achieve a good result, there should be fewer technical mistakes. For experienced players, the language of football is universal."
Gurban Gurbanov stated that the fact that the team has been unable to score for three consecutive matches creates psychological pressure: "I have been in this business for many years and I take it normally. The better the players perform, the more confident they become. Goal droughts happen to any team. We are trying to fix this. Opponents defend very well against us. To score, we need to do more. We have also deviated a bit from our plan. Injuries, the unreadiness of some players... Everything will fall into place."
Gurban Gurbanov declined to comment on rumors about a possible departure of Abdellah Zoubir from "Qarabag."
