2026 World Cup: Morocco beat Haiti and advanced to the knockout stage
The Morocco national team defeated Haiti in a Matchday 3 group stage match of the FIFA World Cup.
As reported by BAKU.WS, the match at Mercedes-Benz Stadium (renamed "Atlanta Stadium" for the duration of the World Cup) in Atlanta, Georgia, ended with a score of 4:2.
The islanders opened the scoring in the 10th minute when Morocco goalkeeper Yassine Bounou scored an own goal. In the 29th minute, Achraf Hakimi equalized, but already in the 43rd minute, Wilson Isidor scored Haiti's second goal. However, the Africans managed to level the score again before the break. In the 1st minute of added time in the first half, Ismael Saibari restored the status quo in the match.
In the 78th minute, Sofiane Rahimi put Morocco ahead, then in the 89th minute, Jasim Yasin scored his team's 4th goal and set the final score at 4:2.
Thus, Morocco, having earned seven points in Group C, advanced to the knockout stage from second place, while Haiti concluded their World Cup campaign without earning any points.
