2026 World Cup: Algeria national team claimed a comeback victory over Jordan

The Algerian national football team defeated Jordan 2:1 in a second round group stage match of the World Cup.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the match took place in Santa Clara (California, USA).

The goals for the winners were scored by Nadir Benboali (69th minute) and Amine Gouiri (82nd). For the Jordanians, Nizar al-Rashdan (36th) found the net.

The Algerian national team secured their first victory at the current World Cup, earning 3 points and occupying third place in Group J. In their first match, the Algerians lost to the reigning world champions Argentina (0:3), who lead the group with 6 points and have secured their place in the knockout stage.
