Weather forecasters have revealed what the weather will be like in May

The instability of weather conditions in April is due to the fact that this month is transitional.

This was stated by a researcher at the Department of Climatology and Agroclimatology of the Institute of Geography, Rafig Ismayilov, according to APA.

According to him, the instability is influenced by air warming, the invasion of cold masses from the north, as well as processes in the middle troposphere at an altitude of 3.5-5 km. Similar meteorological phenomena can also be observed in May, however, it is difficult to accurately predict them.

Ismayilov noted that statistics from previous years confirm the periodic recurrence of such situations.

Mudflows and floods pose a particular threat during the spring period, especially in the areas of the southern slope of the Greater Caucasus, the Sheki-Zagatala zone, and Nakhchivan. In Lankaran, despite the large number of rainy days, due to the low intensity of precipitation, mudflow phenomena more often take the form of floods.

"Climate change is one of the most acute problems in recent years. Transitional seasons, including April, particularly vividly reflect these changes," emphasized Ismayilov.
