Unique case in Azerbaijan: childbirth in a patient who was in a coma
In Azerbaijan, a woman who was in a coma for four days in the maternity intensive care unit of the Clinical Medical Center (CMC) gave birth to a healthy baby.
This was reported to BAKU.WS by the CMC.
As it became known, on October 11 last year, a 27-year-old pregnant woman in serious condition with seizure syndrome was hospitalized.
Subsequently, examinations began in the gynecology department of the CMC for monitoring and treatment of the pregnancy.
On April 7, 2025, at the 39th week of pregnancy, obstetrician-gynecologist Sholya Safarova performed a cesarean section.
A healthy baby (boy) weighing 3990 grams and 52 cm tall was born.
After the necessary examinations, the mother and child were discharged home in good condition.
