President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan sent a congratulatory letter to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of Victory Day.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the message states:

"Mr. President, my dear Brother.

On behalf of my people and on my own behalf, I extend to all my Azerbaijani brothers and sisters, led by Your Excellency, the most sincere congratulations on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of Victory Day - a holiday marking the liberation of ancient Azerbaijani lands that had been under occupation for 30 years.

Azerbaijan's just struggle, crowned with a Great Victory, has become a source of pride for the entire Turkic world. The rapid progress of the restoration and revival process in the territories liberated from occupation fills us all with a sense of pride.

I am confident that, building upon the unbreakable bonds of friendship and brotherhood based on the principle of "One nation, two states" and elevated to the highest level thanks to the Shusha Declaration, we will continue to work in close cooperation and demonstrate solidarity both in bilateral relations and on the international arena.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts we are making to establish lasting peace, tranquility, and stability in our region, the South Caucasus is now perceived not as a region of conflicts and instability, but as a region of cooperation and development.

May Allah rest the souls of our heroic martyrs who gave their lives in the struggle for the independence of their Homeland; I respectfully honor their blessed memory and express gratitude to our ghazis.

Dear Brother, taking this opportunity, I wish you health and happiness, and to the brotherly people of Azerbaijan - a prosperous, peaceful future and all the best."
