Ilham Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva met with residents of liberated villages: My grandchildren said, take a photo with the President, we will hang the photo above our heads

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva on November 6 participated in the opening of the first phase of the village of Jahangirbayly in the Zangilan district.

President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva also met with residents who had resettled in the villages of Jahangirbayly in the Zangilan district and Soltanly in the Jabrayil district.

The head of state and the First Lady spoke with the residents and took commemorative photographs.

President Ilham Aliyev: Did you live here?

Resident: Yes, I am a resident of this village. I was born here, grew up here, worked as a driver. My grandchildren asked me: take a photo with Mr. President, bring the photo, and we will hang it above our heads.

President Ilham Aliyev: And where did you live during the occupation?

Resident: In Baku.

President Ilham Aliyev: In Baku? What were the conditions like there?

Resident: Not very good, we somehow lived through those 33 years, may Allah protect You.

President Ilham Aliyev: What did you do for a living?

Resident: I worked there too with my vehicle, I had a "GAZ-53".

President Ilham Aliyev: And now you are working as a driver here again?

Resident: As a driver… I parted ways with the vehicle, it's no longer around.

President Ilham Aliyev: What will you do here?

Resident: Agriculture. Our people are hardworking, Mr. President, they will sow, grow crops.
