In Azerbaijan, individuals who have completed bachelor's and master's degrees are called up for military service. However, the question of whether those pursuing doctoral education should undergo military service is generating interest in society.

Will doctoral students be drafted for military service?

As reported by BAKU.WS, the spokesperson for the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription, Parviz Sadraddinov, commenting on this issue for Metbuat.az, stated that doctoral students will not be called up for military service if they obtain their academic degree.

"However, if they fail to defend their dissertation during their study period, they will be subject to military service like any citizen of Azerbaijan," he added.
