Multiple-vehicle accident in Azerbaijan - 2 people dead, 12 injured

As a result of a mass accident involving 13 vehicles in the village of Gulaband in the Ujar district, two people died and 12 others were injured.

As reported by Baku.ws with reference to Report, the incident occurred on the Baku - Gazakh highway.

According to the driver of the Mercedes involved in the accident, several cars stopped due to an accident on the opposite side of the road, at which point a KamAZ truck rear-ended these vehicles.

Medical personnel and employees of the Special Risk Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were called to the scene. The victims were extracted from the deformed vehicles and handed over to doctors.

Some of the injured were taken to the Ujar District Central Hospital, while several others were taken to the Goychay District Hospital.

Those hospitalized were 45-year-old Ruslan Mammadov, 18-year-old Sabina Aliyeva, 56-year-old Mardan Gasymov, 65-year-old Sahib Ahmadov, 58-year-old Najiba Abdullayeva, 70-year-old Alevsyat Aliyev, 42-year-old Aftandil Huseynov, 44-year-old Niyamaddin Mammadov, 65-year-old Gunesh Aliyeva, 5-year-old N.A., 44-year-old Alizamin Mammadov. The bodies of the deceased were transferred as designated.

An investigation has been launched into the incident, and all circumstances are being clarified.
