Attention parents: priority school admission dates announced

In Azerbaijan, the dates for registering children in first grades for the new academic year have been announced. From May 1 to September 12, parents will have the opportunity to create personal accounts and complete documents for enrolling their children in school.
As Farida Bilishzade, the chief consultant of the General Education Organization Department of the State Agency for Preschool and General Education, told Oxu.az, the process of selecting schools and teachers will begin on May 6 and continue until mid-September.
Due to the high demand for certain educational institutions in Baku, Sumgayit, and the Absheron district, enrollment will be conducted taking into account established priorities.
"Admission to the Azerbaijani sector starts on May 6 and ends on June 5. Parents planning to enroll their children in classes taught in other languages need to register for an oral interview from May 6 to 20. The interviews themselves will take place from May 12 to 31, and appeals can be submitted from May 31 to June 2. After successfully passing the interview, parents will be able to choose a school and teacher until June 17," Bilishzade explained.
She also noted that priority selection for the Russian sector will take place from June 17 to July 17.
Separate deadlines have been established for admission to prestigious educational institutions - Baku European Lyceum, Bulbul Secondary Special Music School, and the Arts Gymnasium. Registration for interviews in the Azerbaijani departments of these institutions will last from May 6 to June 5, with competitive selection taking place from June 15 to 18. For the Russian sector, registration will be held from June 17 to 25, and the competition from June 30 to July 7. Those who successfully pass the selection will be able to choose a teacher on July 14.
