NATO has appointed a new special representative for the South Caucasus
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has announced the appointment of Kevin Hamilton as Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Central Asia.
This was reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the alliance.
NATO noted that Hamilton will be responsible for advancing the alliance's policy "in these two strategically important regions."
Hamilton has also been appointed to the position of Deputy Assistant Secretary General of NATO for Partnership in the Political Affairs and Security Policy Division.
It should be noted that prior to this appointment, K. Hamilton served from 2023 to 2026 as Canada's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, with residence in Ankara (Turkey). He previously held the positions of Ambassador to Romania, Bulgaria, and the Republic of Moldova (2016-2020).
