Hikmet Hajiyev: Almost every day Le Figaro publishes fake anti-Azerbaijani materials

Almost daily, Le Figaro publishes anti-Azerbaijani materials, approximately 99.9% of which are fake.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this was stated by the Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev at a special session "The Language of Peace and the Fight Against Disinformation," organized within the framework of the Baku Platform for Dialogue on Culture and Media.

"Western media spread disinformation and manipulate information regarding individual countries, and Azerbaijan has become a constant target. When we request the right to reply, there is no response - we are not given the opportunity to comment on these publications. Combating such a wave of disinformation is extremely difficult. Many countries around the world suffer from this problem," he said.

He emphasized that countering fakes requires significant efforts, as false claims can become part of the global information narrative even before the country manages to convey its position to the international audience.

According to the Presidential Assistant, combating disinformation requires joining efforts and more actively engaging with global media.
