At 23, he inscribed his name in the history of Azerbaijan's Victory. Elshan Ahmadli participated in the 44-day Patriotic War and showed courage on the battlefield. His last battle took place on November 8: he was killed during fierce fighting on the steep slopes of the city of Shusha.
Although Elshan did not live to see Victory Day, he contributed to its achievement. A native of the Oghuz district, he became the pride of his homeland. His mother Sharafat Chalabiyeva said that she last spoke with her son on November 4.
"I asked him: 'Elshan, when will the war end?' He replied: 'Very soon.' On November 8, we achieved Victory, but no news came from my son. I am proud to be his mother. I never even suspected that I had raised a hero. His combat journey began in Fuzuli. On November 8, he was killed during the Shusha-Khankendi operation. I have three children, two of them are girls. Elshan was the youngest child in the family. No matter how hard it is, Karabakh was liberated from occupation. This was made possible thanks to our soldiers, sons like Elshan," the shahid's mother said in an interview with Baku TV.
