Traffic police issued an important statement ahead of the holidays

The Main Department of the State Traffic Police of Azerbaijan has called on road users to be attentive and responsible in connection with the upcoming holidays - Victory Day (November 8) and National Flag Day (November 9).

As reported to BAKU.WS by the department, before trips, drivers need to ensure the technical serviceability of their vehicles, especially the braking system, lighting equipment, and tires.

Drivers are urged to choose their speed in accordance with road and weather conditions, avoid dangerous maneuvers, and maintain a safe following distance.

"Drivers should not neglect the use of seat belts or allow themselves to be distracted by mobile phones while driving. During long trips, it is unacceptable to drive while fatigued. It is necessary to be especially careful on roads with heavy traffic and to be attentive to other road users," the statement says.

Pedestrians are also urged to strictly observe traffic rules, cross the road only at designated locations, and be more cautious at night and in conditions of limited visibility.
