Placido Domingo performed at the Heydar Aliyev Center

Legendary tenor Placido Domingo performed at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku on November 14.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to AZERTAJ, the Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva attended the concert.

Placido Domingo shared the stage with his son Placido Domingo Jr., People's Artist Yusif Eyvazov, Honored Artist Afag Abbasova, and Swiss opera singer Daria Rybak.

The Uzeyir Hajibeyov State Symphony Orchestra, which accompanied the artists, was conducted by the famous Italian conductor Francesco Ivan Ciampa.

The evening program featured works by classical world music composers G. Puccini, G. Verdi, and P. Mascagni.

Placido Domingo once again presented a surprise to the Azerbaijani audience. The legendary singer and other participants of the evening performed together the folk song "Kuchalara su sepmisham".

This is not the first time Placido Domingo has turned to Azerbaijani music. Recall that in 2010, at the ceremony dedicated to the 87th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev's birth, the great singer performed Tofig Guliyev's song "Sene de galmaz".
