Whitkoff announced the beginning of the implementation of the second stage of the peace plan for Gaza
Special Envoy of the US President Steve Whitcoff announced the start of the second phase of President Donald Trump's plan for settlement in the Gaza Strip.
He wrote about this on his page in the social network X.
"Today, on behalf of President Trump, we announce the beginning of the second phase of the President's 20-point plan to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip," he noted.
The second phase of the peace plan provides for the creation of a transitional administration and the launch of a process for demilitarization and restoration of the enclave, Whitcoff reported.
"The second phase provides for the creation of a transitional technocratic Palestinian administration in Gaza, a National Committee for Gaza Management, and the beginning of full demilitarization and restoration of Gaza, primarily disarming all unauthorized personnel," he indicated, adding that the US expects the Palestinian Hamas movement to fully fulfill its commitments, including returning the body of the last deceased hostage.
"Failure to meet these requirements will result in serious consequences," Whitcoff's message states.
