Trump stated that there are positive signals from Moscow regarding a ceasefire with Ukraine

US President Donald Trump stated that there have not yet been substantive contacts with the Russian leadership regarding the proposal for an immediate ceasefire with Ukraine, however, there are positive signals.

This is how Trump responded to journalists at the White House when asked about contacts with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

"We have not yet spoken with him on the substance," he said.

Trump emphasized that he expects a prompt reaction from Moscow: "We will know soon, I am receiving positive messages, but positive messages don't mean anything."

The US President noted that the situation is very serious and "could lead to World War III," and in his opinion, the incompetence of former US President Joe Biden led to this state of affairs.
