Trump stated that the USA is ready to help Iran

US President Donald Trump, amid protests in Iran, expressed the opinion that the Islamic republic is striving for freedom, and the USA is ready to "help".

He wrote this on his social network Truth Social.

Trump has repeatedly stated earlier about readiness to strike hard at Iran if protesters die there.

"Iran is striving for freedom, perhaps as never before. The USA is ready to help!!!" - he wrote.

The US President did not specify exactly how he is ready to "help" Iran.

Earlier on Saturday, Reza Pahlavi, the son of the Iranian Shah who was overthrown in 1979, published another video on social network X with an appeal to the residents of Iran. In his message, he called for a general strike, and named the preparation for the capture and retention of strategically important streets and objects as the goal of the protests. Earlier, he had called on US President Donald Trump to intervene in the situation in Iran.

Since January 8, protest marches have intensified in Iran, which began after a call from Pahlavi. Videos on social networks testified to large-scale and massive actions. On the same day, the internet stopped working in Iran.

Protests in Iran began in late December 2025 due to the devaluation of the local currency - the Iranian rial. The main theme of the protests was the sharp fluctuations in the exchange rate and their impact on wholesale and retail prices. Videos appeared on social networks with protesters in Tehran and other cities. Against this background, the head of the Iranian central bank, Mohammad Farzin, resigned. Abdolnaser Hemmati was appointed in his place.
