The Virtual U.S. Embassy in Iran has called for the second time since January 15, 2026, for American citizens to immediately leave the republic.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the embassy noted that security measures have been intensified in Iran, roads have been blocked, public transportation has been disrupted, and the internet has been blocked.

"The Iranian government continues to restrict access to mobile, landline, and national internet networks. Airlines continue to limit or cancel flights to and from Iran.

If you cannot leave the premises, find a safe place inside your home or in another secure building. Stock up on food, water, medicine, and other necessities. Avoid demonstrations, keep a low profile, and be aware of your surroundings," the publication states. U.S. authorities named land routes through Armenia or Turkey as possible exit routes.

It is noted that individuals holding dual U.S. and Iranian citizenship should leave the country specifically using Iranian documents.
