Rutte on the question of NATO peacekeepers' participation in the mission in Ukraine
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that the Alliance does not plan to participate in a peacekeeping mission on the territory of Ukraine, as this could affect NATO's ability to protect its own territories in the future. He said this in an interview with nv.ua.
According to him, the allies are developing various options to ensure Ukraine's security, but their implementation requires either a ceasefire or a peace agreement.
"Currently, the UK and France, together with a number of like-minded countries, are working on mechanisms to provide security guarantees. Italy, in turn, offers an alternative approach. I believe that the best option would be to wait for peace and then improve the proposed ideas," Rutte noted.
