Record temperature for Europe of +50.5 was recorded in Turkey

A record temperature for Europe of +50.5 degrees was recorded in the Turkish province of Şırnak.

This was reported on July 26 by the newspaper Turkiye Today, citing the Turkish state meteorological service.

"On Friday, a new historical temperature record was set in Europe: a temperature of +50.5 degrees was recorded in the southeastern province of Şırnak, Turkey," the article states.

It is noted that the previous record of +48.8 degrees was recorded on the Italian island of Sicily in August 2021.
