Nobel Prize in Physics 1957 laureate Chen-Ning Yang has died. This was reported by China Central Television.

The scientist was 103 years old. Yang, together with American physicist Robert Mills, created the gauge field theory - one of the key discoveries in 20th century physics. Additionally, together with Enrico Fermi, he proposed the first composite model of strongly interacting elementary particles.

For a long time, Yang lived in the USA, but in 1999 he returned to China and began teaching at Tsinghua University. In 2015, he renounced his American citizenship.
