Musk announced the release of Grok 4.1 and shared plans for the revolutionary Grok 5
Elon Musk and his company xAI announced the release of an updated version of their proprietary AI model Grok.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to iXBT, update number 4.1 has been made available to all users for free.
According to Musk, Grok 4.1 is noticeably faster and better than previous versions. xAI clarified that the new model is focused on developing conversational skills, more accurate understanding of emotional context, and expanded capabilities for practical application.
Grok 4.1 can already be used in the web version on grok.com and grok.x.com websites, as well as in the Grok mobile app.
In parallel, xAI continues to work on the next model - Grok 5. Musk noted that the current version of Grok 4-Heavy remains the company's most advanced AI, however, the future release should provide a serious breakthrough in key indicators. Earlier, he called Grok 5 the most intelligent AI in the world with potentially a large gap from competitors and emphasized that this update would for the first time give the company a "non-zero chance" to approach the level of true artificial general intelligence (AGI). According to his estimates, the probability of achieving full artificial intelligence is about 10%.
