Media: Alla Pugacheva renounces Russian citizenship

Singer Alla Pugacheva allegedly renounced her Russian citizenship and submitted the corresponding documents to the Russian Embassy in Israel.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Russian Telegram channels, according to their information, the procedure took place in a closed setting without outsiders, and the artist entered the building through a separate entrance. The review of documents may take several months, however, in some cases, the process happens more quickly.

Sources claim that the reason for such a step could be a possible criminal case in Russia. Recall that in 2022, Pugacheva received Israeli citizenship and spoke out against the military actions in Ukraine.

At the same time, the head of the Federal Project for Security and Fight Against Corruption (FPBK) Vitaly Borodin, in a comment to the website "Strasti," stated that this information is most likely fake. According to him, Pugacheva will not give up her Russian passport at least until the end of the conflict in Ukraine, as, like other artists who have left, she hopes to return.

Borodin urged to wait for official statements, noting that such fakes may be spread specifically to improve the singer's image, so that she could use the situation to her advantage and appear as a patriot.
