A new round of negotiations between the US and Iran will take place in Pakistan after the completion of the main Hajj rituals at the end of May.

This was reported by the Al Arabiya television channel, citing sources. It is noted that a Pakistani representative may visit Iran on Thursday to announce the completion of work on the final draft of the agreement.

Earlier, the official spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baghaei, stated that Iran and the US continue exchanging messages on the issue of conflict resolution based on Tehran's proposal. According to him, as cited by the Fars agency, the exchange of views is taking place "based on the text of Iran's 14-point proposal."

Prior to this, the Fars agency, citing a source, reported on five conditions set by Tehran for Washington to resume peace negotiations. The list of demands includes a cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon; the lifting of sanctions; the unfreezing of Iranian assets; and compensation for losses caused by the war. The source identified one of the most important conditions as the recognition of Iran's right to sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.

The US put forward counter-conditions. American authorities insist on the transfer of 400 kg of enriched uranium from Iran to the US and that only one operational nuclear facility remain in the Islamic Republic.
