More than 80 people were evacuated from private homes flooded in Makhachkala due to rains.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Russian media, this was announced by the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for Dagestan.
"On Zarechnaya Street, due to clogging of the drainage ditch, rainwater accumulated and its level rose. About 20 private residential houses were flooded, with water levels reaching 1.5 meters in some places. Employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations cleared the blockage, and the water level is currently receding. 83 people were evacuated, including three children, and four people were rescued," the statement said.
In addition, on Perova Street, due to rainwater accumulation, five houses and about six vehicles were flooded. Rescuers are currently evacuating the population.
Earlier, the Makhachkala administration reported that a state of emergency had been declared in the city due to the consequences of the rains.
