Fars: Strikes on Bandar Abbas were carried out by the UAE Air Force
The UAE Air Force launched missile strikes on the port of Bandar Abbas in southern Iran.
This was reported by the Iranian agency Fars.
"Sources claim that the area where the explosion occurred was struck by fighter jets of the United Arab Emirates Air Force," the publication states.
At the same time, the outlet notes that Israel denied involvement in the explosions at the port.
"An Israeli source told the local TV channel i24NEWS that Tel Aviv has no connection to the events that took place this evening in Iran," Fars writes.
Several explosions were heard on the territory of Qeshm Island and the port of Bandar Abbas in southern Iran.
This was reported with reference to the local agency Tasnim.
"Sources report that sounds of explosions were heard on Qeshm Island and in the port of Bandar Abbas," the report states.
The exact origin and source of the sounds have not yet been determined, the outlet indicates.
A number of the agency's sources claim that the sounds are related to IRGC Navy operations to warn vessels against illegal passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
As a reminder, the United States and Israel launched a military operation against Iran on February 28, carrying out airstrikes on several cities. In response, Tehran launched missile strikes on Israeli territory and attacked American military bases in Persian Gulf countries.
On the night of April 8, 2026, Iran, the United States, and their allies agreed to a two-week ceasefire. On April 11-12, negotiations between Iran and the United States took place in Islamabad, mediated by Pakistan. After prolonged discussions, the parties concluded the meeting without reaching an agreement.
As a means of pressure on Tehran, the United States announced a blockade of Iranian ports and passage through the Strait of Hormuz. In turn, Iran declared that the Strait of Hormuz is already closed to vessels heading to Persian Gulf countries. The situation in the region, in turn, provoked a global energy crisis.
