EU plans to double supplies of large-caliber ammunition to Ukraine
The European Union (EU) plans to double the supply of large-caliber ammunition to Ukraine during the current year.
As reported by Euronews, this was announced by the Chairman of the EU Military Committee Robert Brieger.
"The goal is to deliver 2 million large-caliber ammunition to Ukraine during the current year. That is, we are talking about doubling the amount that was supplied last year," he said.
Brieger's statement came after a meeting of EU defense service leaders, which took place in Brussels.
According to Brieger, the EU will encourage member countries to produce and purchase more ammunition to achieve this goal.
"We are trying to encourage member countries to buy more, produce even more, using contracts concluded by the European Defense Agency. But we are also putting forward new initiatives, either financial or through intensifying cooperation with Ukraine's defense industry," he explained.
