Concerns Voiced in the US About the Dollar's Exchange Rate

The US is not afraid of the dollar weakening due to the war with Iran.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to TASS, concerns about the dollar exchange rate were addressed by the country's Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent.

In an interview with the Semafor portal, the head of the department stated that there is no need to worry about the national currency's exchange rate.

"As you could observe throughout the war, the dollar is strengthening. So I'm not worried about that," Bessent explained.

US President Donald Trump stated at the beginning of the year that he does not consider the US dollar exchange rate to be too low. "No, I think it's great," the head of state said. According to Reuters journalist Jamie McGeever, the sharp weakening of the dollar is linked to the Trump administration's desire to eliminate the trade deficit and balance the country's balance of payments.
