Biographical film about Michael Jackson is being postponed: what is known about it
During the fourth quarter 2025 report, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer announced that the biographical film Michael about Michael Jackson has been postponed to a later date, reports BAKU.WS with reference to Variety.
"Regarding our biographical film about Michael Jackson, we are thrilled with the 3.5 hours of footage from producer Graham King and director Antoine Fuqua. In the coming weeks, we will announce the exact strategy and release date," says Feltheimer.
"The film premiere will likely be moved beyond the current financial year, which will affect the financial performance of 2026, but at the same time strengthen the already strong schedule for 2027," the CEO summarizes.
The main filming of Michael was completed in May last year, however, John Logan's script is still being finalized before additional shooting. The film's budget is about $155 million.
