Ayatollah Alireza Arafi joined Iran's governing council
Ayatollah Alireza Arafi has joined Iran's interim leadership council, which is temporarily governing the country until the election of a new supreme leader.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by Mohsen Dehnavi, the official representative of the Expediency Discernment Council of the republic.
"In accordance with Article 111 of the constitution, which states that one of the members of the Guardian Council from the category of jurists must be present in the interim leadership council, the Expediency Discernment Council has elected Ayatollah Alireza Arafi as a member of this council, so that the governance of the country can continue without interruption and the Assembly of Experts can elect the supreme leader as soon as possible," he wrote on the social media platform X.
